We had a chance to visit Misty Mountain Camp Resort near Charlottesville, Virginia over the summer for a long weekend, and it was such a great time!
Misty Mountain is centrally located to all the area’s sites and attractions: Thomas Jefferson’s Monticello, the University of Virginia, the Blue Ridge Parkway, hiking, tubing, and not to mention the many wineries and breweries. We just returned from a weeklong trip where we visited Williamsburg, VA and then Washington, D.C. As I always like to read about places I’m staying before I get there, I wanted to put together some notes on the campgrounds we stayed in during our trip.
When we stayed in Williamsburg, VA, we parked our travel trailer at Anvil Campground for three days. The campground is conveniently located just a few miles from the area’s main attractions, including Colonial Williamsburg, Busch Gardens-Williamsburg and Water Country USA.
