Camper shopping time

It’s a beautiful fall Saturday here in S.C. – a perfect day to go camper shopping! We spoke to a few sales associates at two different RV stores in the area, and narrowed down some options we might like to consider.

Talk about overwhelming! First of all, when we first walked in to the first place, we were completely bowled over by the range of RVs and campers on the lot. From your $500,000 tour busses to the most basic of pop-ups, it was all there.

Not going to lie. We took a few minutes to walk onto one of the mac daddy tour busses and look around. I could definitely get used to that kind of style. A girl can dream, right?

But alas, we needed something a little less, ah, pricey/big/rockstar for our crew.

We looked at the Cherokee Wolf Pup 2016 16BHS, the Starcraft Launch 2017 19BHS and the Starcraft AR-ONE 19BHLE.

While I really would like something bigger in a camper – we’re  very limited by the tow rating on our 2012 Buick Enclave that will be towing the trailer. With the tow package, we’ll be able to tow up to 4,500 pounds – so we need something fairly lightweight.

Each of the three campers we toured clocked in anywhere from 3,000 lbs. up to 3878 lbs in dry weight.

There were definitely pros and cons to each of the campers we toured. We’re still not sure which way we’re going to go. I’d like to go with the larger Starcraft Launch but I’m concerned about pushing the weight limit of our vehicle. On the other hand, if we go too small, will we not enjoy the experience as much?

We’re new to this glamping adventure. Which would you choose based on those qualifiers??

My husband is 6’1.” Finding a shower height built for him in a lightweight trailer is a bit of a challenge! (Sorry for the blurry picture – I think he was trying to sing!).
